Modern advertising professional Su Xiaotang accidentally travels back to a state-owned textile factory in 1985 while staying up late on a project. To her shock, she encounters Yang Chenghan, a workshop technician who looks identical to her late boyfriend! Yet Yang not only doesn’t recognize her but is wary of this “unidentified” temp worker—and he’s hiding a secret: he’s been searching for his missing childhood sweetheart. As Su struggles to adapt to 80s life (saving food stamps, learning to use a sewing machine) and secretly gets closer to Yang, she realizes she’s at risk of being a “replacement.” When modern thinking clashes with 80s conservatism, and the shadow of a “past-life lover” overlaps with the man in front of her, can she prove she’s the one who crossed time and space to love him?
