Wei Fanshu, an urban landscape designer, travels to Chunshan Ao for an ancient village renovation bid, only to clash with Ma Shiyao, a bamboo-weaving intangible heritage inheritor guarding the village—he calls her an "invader destroying old houses," while she mocks him as a "stubborn traditionalist." Yet in their conflicts, she sees his tenderness in mending the bamboo bridge at night, and he understands her genuine wish to "revive the village" through her designs. Just as they fall for each other, news comes that the project will demolish the old ancestral hall, the village's collective memory—will they choose renovation or preservation? They must find the village's warmth and their own future amid the struggle between "breaking" and "preserving."
