Returned architect Lu Zhao (played by Deng Yuanchao) is ordered to redevelop the old alley "Chun Fang", only to encounter Shen Wantang—his first love whom he left without a word years ago—who stands guard over her old-item repair shop. Shen sees him as a "memory destroyer" and blocks him at every turn. But Lu discovers a conspiracy behind the redevelopment plan: developers are forging cultural relic appraisals to bulldoze Chun Fang. He wants to protect the alley but dare not reveal the truth of his sudden departure: his father's critical illness forced him to leave. When the old pocket watch (Lu's former gift) repaired by Shen starts ticking again, and the forged documents are found under the old locust tree in Chun Fang, can they untangle their misunderstandings and guard their shared "spring night memories" before the dawn of the spring night?
