Xiao Wu, a bit-part actor in Hengdian, has a 'crazy' dream—to star in a comedy version of Sun Wukong (the Monkey King) that makes people laugh until they cry. But he always messes up auditions: either he plays the 'Great Sage Equal to Heaven' as a 'Great Fool,' or he forgets his lines because he’s too eager to make judges laugh. Even casting directors call him 'unserious.' Until one day, he finds a yellowed scroll titled *Grand Painting Journey to the West* in an old props room—when he touches it, he’s sucked into the world inside the painting! Here, Tang Seng wears glasses and scolds him with a 'tightening curse-style pep talk,' calling him a 'waste of talent.' Sha Seng carries his pole while reciting the *Tao Te Ching*, saying his comedy is 'evil.' Only Zhu Bajie (Pigsy) clings to him, begging, 'Brother, teach me to roast monsters awake!' But the Journey to the West team is trapped in Little Thunder Sound Monastery by the Yellow-Browed Monster. The 'Bag of People' that Sun Wukong was supposed to break now depends on Xiao Wu, who only knows how to clown around. He jams the monster’s magic bag with a 'nonsensical tongue twister,' tricks the monster into releasing villagers with a 'funny 72 Transformations,' and even makes the Yellow-Browed Monster recall his old dream of being a 'comedy monster' with a 'heartfelt speech about comedy.' When he finally returns to reality, he realizes: comedy is never about acting crazy—it’s wrapping sadness in sugar with sincerity. This time, he’ll take the 'comedy magic' from the painting, play the 'imperfect but genuine' Sun Wukong, and become his own 'King of Comedy!'
