Lin Xiaoman, a barefoot doctor in a small Northeast Chinese village, can perceive ghosts by birth but is excluded by locals for her "ghost doctor" reputation. On a rainy night, a landslide blocks her path to a house call. Urgently reciting the ancestral mantra "Five Ghosts Carry Away", she unexpectedly summons five ghosts. They not only avoid the landslide with her but also carry her medical box galloping. The commotion attracts spiritualists guarding a mountain secret realm, triggering a secret fight over technique inheritance. She has no idea she's already trapped in generations of resentment and entanglements.
