Lin Xiaoman and Chen Mo, two Beiping drifters sharing an apartment, team up as a fake couple to handle their parents' New Year pressures—marriage and career. Xiaoman pretends to be a planning director at a listed company, while Chen Mo boasts about his million-dollar startup. But their charade falls apart immediately upon returning home: Xiaoman's mom has a stomach attack and asks for her "director connections" to find a specialist; Chen Mo's dad insists on visiting his "startup." Just as their lies are about to be exposed, their parents hand them hot dumplings with a smile: "We saw through it long ago. What we want isn't 'success'—it's the comfort of you saying 'I'm tired' honestly." Turns out, the warmest New Year flavor isn't the fake glory, but the true heart behind dropping the facade.
