Lin Yuan, a former state banquet chef, hides his identity as a kitchen hand in a corner small restaurant to escape entertainment industry and capital coercion, craving a simple life. His ex-wife Su Man, who abandoned him years ago and teamed up with outsiders to ruin his studio, now faces bankruptcy as her catering company struggles with unsellable signature dishes. Unaware the kitchen hand is Lin Yuan, she brings her team to "poach" him, hoping to save her business with his cooking skills. Seeing her hypocritical and flattering face, Lin Yuan deliberately uses ingeniously delicious dishes to sabotage her investment promotion event, making her lose all savings and get her comeuppance.
