Li Zhan, the new emperor of Bei Liang, was made emperor by powerful ministers because of his "natural foolishness", but in reality, he uses his "foolishness" as a cover to secretly investigate the truth behind his father's sudden death. Su Wan, a female official seeking revenge, enters the palace to assassinate him, but during their interactions, she discovers—this "naive emperor" would protect her with absurd reasons when she's bullied, and secretly give her osmanthus candy on her birthday. His "foolishness" hides the deepest affection. But when Su Wan puts down her weapon, court conspiracies resurface: powerful ministers want to depose the emperor, the harem wants to kill her, and even Li Zhan's "naivety" was a lie? Can they hold onto that "unsmart" true love in the vortex of imperial power?
