Modern painter Lin Wan stays up late restoring "Zhuo Wenjun Selling Wine by the Stove". Unexpectedly, her blood touches the painting’s inscription, and she travels back to become the soon-to-be-married Zhuo Wenjun. Just as Sima Xiangru courts her with his poem "Phoenix Seeking the Phoenix", Lin Wan knows he will later fall for another (the "Maoling Inscription" incident).
