Modern painter Lin Wan stays up late restoring "Zhuo Wenjun Selling Wine by the Stove". Unexpectedly, her blood touches the painting’s inscription, and she travels back to become the soon-to-be-married Zhuo Wenjun. Just as Sima Xiangru courts her with his poem "Phoenix Seeking the Phoenix", Lin Wan knows he will later fall for another (the "Maoling Inscription" incident). Torn between Sima’s tenderness and fear of repeating Zhuo’s abandonment, she faces a choice: gamble on changing fate with love, or forge her own path with her art. Amidst the smoke of the wine stall, her battle between love and self unfolds.
