Azhi, a little orchid spirit guarding Mirror Flower Valley, descends to the mortal world to retrieve the flower soul stolen by scholar Mao Jiahe. Unexpectedly, she finds Mao Jiahe is the lover she saved with her soul in a past life—he sacrificed himself to protect her then, but now sees spirits as enemies due to fragmented memories. As Azhi’s spirit power dwindles and Mao Jiahe learns the truth, he faces a dilemma: fulfill his sect’s mission to kill the “spirit” or let go of obsession to reunite with his past love.
