Tang Hui ventures into a remote mountain village to find her missing sister, only to be caught up in a series of murders blamed on the "evil spirit of the barren mountain"—villagers claim her sister angered the mountain deity. At a critical moment, Zhang Owen, a mysterious forest ranger, appears out of nowhere. He saves her from a fatal attack but refuses to reveal the mountain's secrets. As they dig deeper, Tang Hui discovers Zhang's family is deeply tied to the legend: his missing father was the only survivor of a "village massacre by the evil spirit" twenty years ago. When they close in on the truth, the shadow of the "evil spirit" looms again—Is it divine revenge, or human malice? What they face is not just the danger of the barren mountain, but the lies hiding in each other's hearts.
