Urban youth Lin Qiang, to raise surgery fees for his mother with leukemia, unexpectedly finds a "family heirloom gold crab" at home, valued at millions by experts! He secretly contacts a buyer, planning to sell it behind his mother's back, but when sorting old items, he catches his mother holding the crab: it's not a real heirloom at all. She made the crabs with gold foil from small crabs Lin Qiang picked up at the beach as a kid, saving money from a seafood processing job. Each crab shell has a fragment of his elementary school "Merit Student" certificate. Lin Qiang's eyes redden, and he cancels the deal on the spot—true pricelessness is never metal's weight, but the filial piety hidden in the shells.
