Set in the Republican era, Gu Jinxiu (played by Liu Xiaoqing), the matriarch of the merchant Gu family, has devoted her life to guarding the family’s century-old silk shop, "Jinxiu Pavilion". When young capitalist Lu Anran (played by Jin Jia) arrives with a scheme to take over the business, a fierce battle of wits ensues.
