Gu Jinchuan (Wang Minghe), a fireworks master who has been in seclusion for three years, returns to the world to guard the "Ember Smoke Shop" left by his late master, only to run into Shi Huan (Gao Mingjun), the young owner of an opera troupe who is trying to seize the shop—her "Shihuan Troupe" is on the verge of collapse after losing their old stage and urgently needs a new venue to survive. One defends the inheritance of fireworks, the other preserves the root of the opera troupe. They go from confronting each other to forced cooperation, and their creative "fireworks opera" unexpectedly revives both businesses. But the truth about the "fireworks explosion" that caused Gu Jinchuan's seclusion suddenly emerges: Shi Huan's missing brother was the victim of the accident, and Gu Jinchuan's three-year guilt becomes the sharpest thorn between them. When the fireworks rise again, can they untie the knot of the past and hold onto the "timely joy" in front of them?
