Modern office worker Jiang Fan accidentally travels to Qingniu Village during a severe famine while working overtime late at night—where fields are barren, villagers gnaw on tree bark, and even his newly recognized "mother" tries to save the last sip of wild vegetable soup for him. Holding a "survival system" that suddenly appears in his arms, Jiang Fan gambles on using modern agricultural knowledge: finding wild mushrooms, raising rabbits in sheds, and leading villagers to dig canals for mountain spring water to grow sweet potatoes.
