Ai Jiangshan, a young cultivation hermit, steps into the modern city for the first time to enroll in university. Fed up with slow public transit, he flies straight to the campus welcome gate on his sacred sword, startling freshman reception volunteer Liu Zimu. Thinking he’s a street performance artist, Liu soon finds Jiangshan is totally out of touch with modern gadgets—even ordering takeout requires him to chant incantations. The pair launches into a chaotic, heartwarming campus life, stumbling upon a hidden cultivator community in the city and getting into more hilarious mishaps.
