Lin Mo, a modern fishery manager, accidentally travels to an ancient isolated city on the verge of falling to enemy troops due to severe water shortage. The city lord mistakes the small pump he carries as a sorcery tool and locks him up. With enemy forces approaching and only three days of food left, Lin Mo takes a huge risk to start the pump, drawing groundwater into the city. From a suspected "demon" to a city-saving hero, he stirs up waves in the ancient city, fighting against enemies while searching for a way back to his own time.
