Office worker Gu Xiaoman’s rental home is suddenly invaded by Xie Zhao, a handsome ancient man in a black robe. Holding a half-piece of jade pendant, he insists he’s her husband from a millennium ago and moves in to “fulfill their marriage vow”. Since then, Gu’s life is turned upside down: hot homemade buns replace takeout, a warm stove waits for her late-night overtime, but Xie rips her important documents mistaking couriers for “enemy letters”, nearly blows up the kitchen by using the microwave as an “alchemy furnace”, and even draws a sword yelling “How dare you bully my wife!” during her client meeting! Just as Gu gets used to this “ancient pampering”, Xie suddenly vanishes, leaving only the jade pendant—turns out his time travel is to make up for the unspoken “I’ll stay with you” from their past life?
