12-year-old math prodigy Luo Zhuoran is forced to substitute for his professor grandfather—who’s suddenly hospitalized—to teach Advanced Algebra to senior college students. On his first class, he meets the rebellious Li Ming, who’s retaking the course after failing and is cursing at her textbook. Seeing her teacher is a kid with a soft, childish voice, Li Ming flips a desk immediately and snaps, “Why should I listen to you?” She even throws an extra-curricular problem to embarrass him. But Luo Zhuoran not only solves it in seconds, but also whispers while gazing at her dark circles: “The modeling problem you stayed up late working on yesterday—you messed up the third step.” From bickering foes to mutual saviors: Li Ming helps the little teacher handle campus gossip, and Luo Zhuoran uses math formulas to calculate her “optimal life solution.” Until the day his grandfather recovers, Luo Zhuoran holds his graduation certificate and smiles: “Actually, I’m the one who learned from all of you.”
