Chen Jili and Wang Haobo, two intern rivals, compete for a full-time position by targeting the same birthday gift for their goddess-like director Lin Xiaoman—a vintage necklace left by her late mother. When they realize they’ve bought identical necklaces, they start sabotaging each other, only to uncover each other’s true intentions: Chen is grateful for Lin taking care of his sick grandma, while Wang owes her for saving his cat. But Lin has known the necklace’s secret all along—she never wanted the necklace itself, just someone who understands her longing for her mother. This "gift battle" eventually becomes a redemption of two boys’ hearts.
