Nian Gao is a traditional rice cake artisan in the ancient town, silent but considerate. His persistence in making rice cake comes from his late mother. Zhi Xia is a city girl here for cultural tourism planning, tasked with renovating the ancient town’s commercial street, initially standing against Nian Gao. As seasons change, Zhi Xia is moved by his dedication to rice cake making and the warm past hidden in it. They go from bickering to working together to safeguard the fading traditional craft, falling in love and retrieving their original aspirations through the seasons. This is not only their warm journey through four seasons, but also a revival of the old craft.
