Young interior designer Lin Zhixia returns to her childhood small yard to escape urban workplace turmoil, only to find stubborn retired carpenter Uncle Chen blocking it with old wood from his late wife, forbidding renovations. As sunlight spills over the old rattan chair, Zhixia discovers the wood hides Uncle Chen’s unspoken regret: their old yard dispute came from his fear of changing memories with his wife. Zhixia abandons her modern renovation plan, helping Uncle Chen repair the yard’s old days. The small yard bathed in sunlight becomes their starting point to regain warmth and reconcile.
