Qingyu, a soul trapped by obsession on the banks of the River of Forgetfulness for a thousand years, relives her painful final moments every day—she’s waiting for someone. Xie Zhao, the Ninth-Life Judge tasked with guiding resentful souls to reincarnation, arrives, but the moment he touches Qingyu’s spirit, he sees his own face from a past life: He was the lover Qingyu sacrificed herself for nine lifetimes ago, who scattered his soul to protect her. Now back as a judge, is he here to guide her to reincarnation, or to reclaim the promise erased by Heaven’s will? The River of Forgetfulness reflects fragments of their tangled past lives, each piece a sharp regret. When Qingyu finally remembers everything, Heaven’s curse surges upstream—this time, what they need to cross isn’t a soul, but the "unfinished" that spans nine lifetimes.
