After losing her job, Su Xiaoyu’s Labrador bites the expensive Maine Coon of Gu Mo, a cold-hearted lawyer. Faced with an 80,000-yuan compensation fee, she has to agree to take care of Gu Mo’s border collie with separation anxiety until she pays off the debt. As they spend time together, she discovers Gu Mo isn’t as unfeeling as he seems—he secretly pays her mother’s hospital bills, and the silver lock around his neck matches the half she lost as a child. Turns out, he’s the boy she saved from a dog attack ten years ago. But just as she’s about to reveal their past, Gu Mo disappears: the border collie has late-stage distemper, and Gu Mo hides his own terminal gastric cancer diagnosis. The so-called “dog trouble” was just his way of getting close to her one last time before his end.
