Lin Xiaoman, a recent graduate, accidentally stumbles into an interview at a top investment bank while trying to rent an apartment, and unexpectedly becomes the assistant to the cold-hearted boss Shen Yan. On her first day, she spills coffee on Shen Yan's custom suit. To avoid being fired, she signs a “personal compensation agreement” — from then on, she has to help Shen Yan fend off marriage proposals, make breakfast, and even pretend to be his girlfriend to meet his grandma. But as they spend time together, she discovers Shen Yan isn’t the “unapproachable iceberg” rumors say: he secretly saves hot milk for her, puts a coat on her when she works overtime, and even squats in the rain for half an hour to save a stray cat. When the fake girlfriend turns into real love, Lin Xiaoman realizes: “Working” was just an excuse — “marrying the boss” is the sweet surprise fate has in store for her.
