Forensic doctor Lin Wan takes on a case of an unnamed female corpse, only to find the body hidden in an ancient coffin carved with mysterious patterns—this very coffin matches the last clue left by her sister who vanished five years ago. Gu Shen, the detective in charge, seems distant but has long been watching Lin Wan secretly: his younger sister disappeared without a trace years ago, right after coming into contact with this same coffin. Forced to work together, they uncover a second skeleton in the coffin, a suddenly dead antique dealer, and late-night anonymous texts saying "You're next"... Every step of their investigation drags them deeper into the fog. When they finally reach the core of the coffin's secret, they realize this "coffin of life and death" has already put both their names on the "waiting list"—either fight to uncover the truth, or become the next person in the coffin.
