The thousand-year-old ginseng spirit Xiaotang sneaks into the mansion of warlord Gu Tingshen to repay a past-life debt of gratitude, but exhausts her spiritual power and turns into a five-year-old child, who is picked up by Gu just returning home. She plans to repay the kindness secretly, but the rumored cold and ruthless young marshal spoils her like a "little ancestor"—sneaking a heater for her when she's cold, searching the entire city for storybooks when she's bored, and even hanging his personal jade pendant around her neck before going to war. And Gu has long recognized her identity but pretends not to, just to keep the soft little girl who calls him "Brother Ting" forever by his side...
