Lin Xiaoman, an ad agency worker, pretends to be an “ugly girl” with buck teeth and freckles to avoid blind dates; Gu Yan, a corporate heir, fakes being “disabled” in a wheelchair to reject an arranged marriage. A rental mix-up forces them to live together. From mocking each other—“Your ugliness hurts my eyes” “Your disability is ridiculous”—to accidental reveals: Xiaoman is caught without her ugly makeup after a shower, Gu Yan is seen walking fine while cooking noodles at night. They then become “disguise partners,” teaming up to handle Xiaoman’s mom (who pushes blind dates) and Gu Yan’s grandpa (who forces the arranged marriage). Hilarious blunders follow—the wheelchair slips and they fall into the sofa, Xiaoman’s ugly makeup melts into a mess in the rain… In the end, they realize the most perfect match is the real, unpretentious version of each other.
