Village girl Azhi and her beloved guard dog Ahei are driven away by Village Chief Li for 'disturbing neighbors'. That night, strange things occur in the village: back mountain fruit trees wither, weird roars ring late at night, and villagers lock themselves indoors out of fear. As panic spreads, Ahei leads the mysterious 'black bear' to the village entrance. It turns out the 'black bear' is the missing amnesiac former village doctor, who brings evidence of Li embezzling collective funds gathered by Ahei. Azhi teams up with the amnesiac doctor and clever Ahei to uncover the village’s hidden secrets and protect their hometown.
