When Lin Xiaoxia takes over her family’s failing inn, she worries about its closure due to poor revenue. She stumbles on a strange secret: the old ginkgo in the backyard opens a time portal to the Grand Jing Royal Palace every midnight. Palace servants or the amnesiac Prince Jing occasionally wander or stay in modern times.
