Lin Chuan, a well digger in the deep mountains, lives a quiet life guarding his ancestors' old well—until he's hounded by Su Wantang, a rich young lady from the city. She holds her grandfather's old photo, determined to find a 'blessing well' that can 'continue good fortune,' and insists Lin Chuan is her only clue. Lin Chuan avoids her like a nuisance: sneezing from her perfume while carrying her up the mountain, watching her boil instant noodles with mineral water because she thinks well water is dirty, even wrapping his shovel in a silk scarf for her... But when Su Wantang jumps into an icy pond to save a drowning child, when she squats by the well to wipe mud off Lin Chuan's face, Lin Chuan realizes this delicate lady is tougher than a wild chrysanthemum. And the blessing well? It holds a secret of two generations: decades ago, Su's grandfather told Lin's grandfather, 'When I earn enough money, I'll come back to dig wells with you.' Now that Su Wantang is here, is the 'blessing' her grandfather spoke of finally going to be fulfilled?
