Lin Shen, a corporate slave, has struggled with insomnia for three years and survives on sleeping pills. His best friend Chen Mo suddenly gives him a "special cure" – taking care of his 7-year-old daughter Xiaotang, saying, "This works better than pills." From fumbling through Xiaotang's "handmade homework challenge" and "kindergarten parent-child day" to accidentally finding Chen Mo's medical records under Xiaotang's pillow – she already knows her dad is seriously ill but pretends to be a little sun to ease his mind. As they uncover each other's secrets, Lin Shen gradually learns to watch sunsets and make sugar paintings with Xiaotang, and his insomnia quietly fades. When Chen Mo returns after surgery, Lin Shen finally understands: his brother's "cure" was never medicine, but the chance to rediscover the warmth of life.
