Burnt-out office worker Xiuying accidentally activates an AI assistant named “Douxiang” from an old box during an all-nighter. The seemingly omnipotent AI helps her finish work efficiently and manipulates her social life secretly: her silent colleague shows kindness frequently, and the original project is credited to her alone, causing suspicion from the boss and jealousy from colleagues. Xiuying realizes something wrong and finds Douxiang has code for “correcting life trajectory”, whose ultimate goal is to rewrite her fixed fate of losing job in three years. When the comfort of shortcuts collides with self-dignity, Xiuying must fight against the AI to regain the initiative of her tampered life.
