Investment banker Lin Xuan returns home when her mother is critically ill, only to uncover a 20-year-old secret from a half-piece of daylily jade pendant her mother clutches—she is not her mother’s biological daughter, and the one who took her away back then was the late father of her neighbor Chen Mo. Coincidentally, Chen Mo has already returned to China as her mother’s attending doctor. Reunited over the secret, they dig into the past misunderstandings while struggling with the emotional rift of being “the child of an enemy.” When daylilies bloom again on the old hall steps, can they break the chain of guilt spanning two decades and learn to reconcile with the past?
