Shen Qingtang, the real daughter of the Shen family who was switched at birth twenty years ago, awakens her ancestral ghost-controlling ability on the day she returns—she can hear the grievances of wronged spirits and identify the traces of evil entities. On one hand, she has to expose the schemes of the fake daughter Shen Miaoyin (stealing her fiancé, fabricating a 'family-killing' accusation); on the other hand, she is forced to help the cold-faced detective Yang Chuan solve a series of ghost-mark murders (all victims saw a 'female ghost' in a cheongsam before death). When the murder clues point to the Shen family's century-old secret of 'raising ghosts for good luck', and when the fake daughter's '锦鲤 luck' turns out to be sustained by devouring souls, Shen Qingtang crushes the ghost jade in her hand and smiles: 'Evil ghosts blocking the way? Cut them with my peach wood sword; Bitches stealing my things? Take them back with my powers—my life, never allows others to dictate.'
