Su Wantang, alias "A Jin", infiltrates General Gu Zhao's mansion as a maid to avenge her family's massacre by poisoning him. Yet over time, she finds Gu Zhao isn't the cold-blooded figure rumors claim——he secretly gives her ointment when she's punished, lingers outside her door when she coughs at night, and even keeps the glass pendant she gave him as a child. When Su Wantang holds a poisoned wine cup to Gu Zhao's lips, he smiles and takes it: "I've waited three years for this wine——the day you jumped off the cliff, I knew you'd come back." It turns out Su's father saved Gu Zhao when his family was ambushed, and the real culprit behind the massacre is someone else. From enemies to lovers, they join hands to uncover court conspiracies, and their love burns through all misunderstandings and hatred like wildfire.
