Su Wan, a museum restorer, returns to a damp old house in the suburbs to find her missing mentor's relics. On a rainy night, she saves Gu Tingshen, a mysterious man who's unconscious—clutched in his hand is her mentor's personal pocket watch. Trapped in the leaky house together, strange things happen: late at night, a Republic-era phonograph hums, and in the ancient painting Su Wan is restoring, there's a woman who looks exactly like her, waiting for a man in a suit on the same rainy night. As Gu Tingshen regains his memory, he admits he's the "living dead" her mentor saved years ago—a century prior, he was an underground worker chased by warlords, and Su Wan's past life was the daughter of the old house's owner. They fell in love here on a rainy night but were separated by a conspiracy. Now, villains are after the "time key" in the painting. They must uncover the century-old truth within 7 rainy nights, or Gu Tingshen will "disappear" again...
