Lin Mo, an overworked office worker, flees to his hometown for a break after constant overtime, expecting a quiet life. Unexpectedly, the once quiet village has been turned into an AI-powered internet-famous tourist spot. Villagers all act as drama queens begging him to be the "original villager NPC": uncles and aunts calculate dividends and pull him to invest, his childhood sweetheart hints at co-operation, and even the old courtyard wall is painted with "check-in paradise" slogans. Between easy money and sticking to nostalgic original look, Lin Mo accidentally finds the first draft of the AI renovation plan, which hides his childhood promise to protect the old banyan tree, leaving him in a dilemma.
