Returning architect Lin Wantang (Jin Jing) comes back to Qingchuan Ancient Town to fulfill her grandmother’s last wish of developing cultural tourism, only to run into her ex-lover Gu Zhaoning (Long Ying)—the man who now guards the town’s intangible bamboo weaving heritage. She broke up with him years ago claiming “I need to see the world,” and now he’s the “stubborn holdout” blocking her project. From the heated dispute over demolishing the old ancestral hall to the bamboo handkerchief left by her grandmother, from the late-night ginger soup in the alley to the clash between modern blueprints and walls of bamboo crafts—when the clouds part, will they realize that each other is the “old mountain” they’ve been searching for all along?
