Freshly graduated prosecutor Liu Yeqi returns to her hometown to investigate her mother’s “accidental” death, only to find clues leading directly to the local tycoon “Jingshen Group”. Just as she vows to tear off the company’s “charity mask”, she runs into Gu Jingshen—her childhood playmate and the group’s heir. Is he an accomplice or a conspirator? As her mother’s old diary and anonymous tip-offs surface one by one, Liu Yeqi is gradually drawn into a decade-long web of power and money. Gu Jingshen’s hidden secret of “betrayal” adds more uncertainty to this “battle for justice”: Can they hold their ground in the darkness and bring justice to the deceased?
