Office worker Lin Mo is unexpectedly reborn to the early years of the Great Jing Dynasty, a time wracked by a devastating famine. Waking up in a dilapidated thatched cottage beside his emaciated wife, he refuses to repeat the starvation he endured in his past life. Drawing on random bits of modern survival and farming knowledge from videos he’d watched before, he finds hidden wild game nests and builds a simple cured meat cellar in the barren fields. Soon, his cottage smells of meat every day, drawing fierce envy from neighboring villagers—some try to steal his food, while others pressure him to donate meat for official grain rations. Protecting his wife, Lin Mo uses his clever hiding tricks and quick wits to build a life of daily meat feasts for the two of them amid the desperate famine.
