Lin Mo, a down-on-his-luck small-time black marketeer in modern town, accidentally falls into a dry well and wakes a thousand-year-old proud turtle, gaining the magical ability to travel between ancient and modern times. He brings modern mechanical parts to the primitive tribal area, modifies simple tools into "magic tools" to subdue the backward tribe; then returns to modern times with the ancient medical secret recipe from the turtle, develops health products to get rich, gets revenge on his former creditors, and attracts mysterious forces coveting the turtle's power, starting a road of mixed pleasure and distress with two-line counterattack.
