Lin Xiaoman, a planetarium guide, has lied to visitors for three years that "the moon hears wishes"—a lie born from her obsession with her missing boyfriend Gu Zhao. Ten years ago, she fled their lunar eclipse date out of fear, only to learn Gu Zhao had a car accident and vanished. Then Lu Mingyuan, a mysterious man calling himself "the moon's messenger," shows up with Gu Zhao's old belongings, forcing her to "return the truth to the moon." When Xiaoman finally confesses her decade-old lie, she discovers Lu Mingyuan was the teenager Gu Zhao saved that year—and Gu Zhao's "disappearance" was just to protect the last bit of hope she had about the "moon."
