Lin Xiaoman, a cultural relic restorer, accidentally receives a broken gilded music box with a fluorite that refracts "moonlight"—it was a token of love made by Chen Aqiang, a fitter in the 1980s, for his secret crush Su Wan, the factory's most beautiful girl. They missed each other due to a misunderstanding, and now Su Wan is a dying old woman whose only wish is to make the music box "shine" again. Lin Xiaoman asks Chen Mo, Chen Aqiang's grandson, for help. As they search for old parts and listen to past stories, they gradually uncover the old misunderstanding and quietly hide their own "moonlight"—the unspoken attraction.
