Lin Mo, who died and turned into a zombie, was captured by the mysterious 749 Bureau to be a "spirit coolie". Thinking he would be reduced to a tool forever, he accidentally gained the ability to devour fierce ghosts. Relying on this power, he counterattacked in tasks of handling abnormal spirits, rising from the bottom "zombie rookie" to an ace worker of 749 Bureau. During this process, he developed sweet affection with Su Qing, a cold-faced agent of 749 Bureau, in many life-and-death missions. He also uncovered the hidden dark line of urban cultivation and became the key contested by various forces.
