Lin Shen, a descendant of generations of tomb guardians, posts warnings at West Liang King's Tomb every year: "Those who enter die." But his childhood friend Chen Hu arrives with a tomb-robbing gang, determined to dig up the "underground palace with the legendary West Liang Blood Jade." Lin Shen breaks down and shows Chen Hu his grandfather's letter: "In 1978, I watched five robbers get wrapped into dry bones by snake patterns on the tomb walls." Chen Hu laughs and mocks him as "superstitious" while patting his gun. The night the tomb door is blown open, the green snake murals suddenly come to life. Gang members die one by one—some strangled by snake-like vines, others seeing themselves turn into dry bones in bronze mirrors. Finally, Chen Hu hugs the stolen Blood Jade, only to find it covered in bloodstained snake patterns. Lin Shen stands at the tomb entrance, holding half a matching jade pendant, and whispers: "What Grandpa didn't say is—guardians are also enforcers of the curse."
