The female lead is an assassin on an assassination mission targeting a rumored crazy and withdrawn young man. She disguises as a neighbor bringing roasted sweet potato to gain his trust and find a chance to kill him. However, the young man's strange behavior leads her to a huge secret: he's not really mad, but a cultivator with a lost immortal skill who faked madness to survive, a secret that could shake the entire fantasy world. The simple assassination task turns into a cat-and-mouse game: she hides her murderous intent, he guards his secret, and they develop sweet feelings along the way, while the real fatal crisis is approaching.
