Archaeology student Su Xiao faints after touching a dragon-patterned ancient jade while clearing newly unearthed Song Dynasty tomb relics. Waking up, she finds the new history lecturer Xiao Chen looks exactly like the "Former Emperor" in the tomb murals. What frightens her more is that strange memory fragments flood her mind—she is the empress who sacrificed for imperial power a thousand years ago, the empress dowager in the murals. As dusty memories collide with her modern identity, facing Xiao Chen who always shows familiar feelings, Su Xiao is both afraid of identity exposure and attracted to this "Former Emperor" involuntarily. A cross-millennium love story of identity dislocation kicks off.
