Su Qingyuan, daughter of a prime minister, is framed by her stepmother, forced to marry into the Hou Mansion as a concubine and locked in the firewood room. Her demented mother is abducted to stay with her. The two endure in desperation and escape at the right moment. On the run, Su Qingyuan discovers her mother’s madness is a disguise—her mother was a favorite concubine of the previous emperor, and a royal succession conspiracy destroyed the Su family. To protect Su Qingyuan, her mother feigned madness. Buried with deep hatred, they return to the imperial city in disguise. With a hidden token and sharp wits, Su Qingyuan navigates rival forces, plotting step by step to expose her stepmother and the Hou Mansion’s conspiracy, clear the Su family’s name, and seek justice for her mother.
