Artifact restorer Lin Xiaoman finds a weathered peach-blossom jade hairpin while renovating her ancestral home. That night, she dreams of Shen Qingci, a late Tang Dynasty female painter whose soul has been trapped in the hairpin for centuries. Shen painted the famous *Peach Stream Scroll* for her lover Gu Yanzhi, but he used the artwork to climb the social ladder and betrayed her, driving her to drown herself in grief. Now Lin can communicate with Shen through the hairpin. She meets Gu's descendant Gu Chengyu by accident, and together they uncover the century-old truth.
